Salary:
£27,319-£32,080
Ref:

Job Type:
Fixed Term Contract

Cymdeithas Ddysgedig Cymru | The Learned Society of Wales
Closing Date:
12-04-2026

We are looking to appoint a motivated and professional Programme Officer on a full-time, fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027.

The Programme Officer role will support the expansion of our Researcher Development Programme, working closely with the Programme Manager. They will help deliver one of the four priorities in our five-year strategy: “to create an environment that supports Wales’ current and future experts”.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the future of research in Wales by promoting training and networking opportunities to early and mid-career researchers.

The role will build on our partnership with Medr, the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research. It would suit someone with the drive to shape and communicate the impact of one of our major programmes, and someone who enjoys working flexibly with a dynamic and supportive team.

  • Salary: £27,319-£32,080 per annum, depending on experience.

We particularly welcome applications in Welsh. Fluency in Welsh is not a requirement of this post, but the ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable, and a willingness to learn is essential. The Society is a bilingual organisation and Welsh speakers will have the opportunity to conduct a significant portion of their work in Welsh, with both colleagues and fellows. The Society provides support to staff at all levels to learn and use Welsh.

  • To apply please submit a CV and cover letter to applications@lsw.wales.ac.uk. Please ensure that you save the final documents in Word or PDF format.

Deadline for applications: midnight on 12 April 2026.

Interviews have been scheduled between 9am and 5pm on Tuesday 21st April 2026.

If you would like more information before deciding whether to apply, please contact Dr Barbara Ibinarriaga Soltero (applications@lsw.wales.ac.uk) to arrange an informal discussion with the Programme Manager.
