About Us
Eryri National Park Authority protects the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of Eryri National Park. Covering 823 square miles, the Park is home to the highest mountain in Wales, the largest natural lake in Wales, and over 26,000 people.
We are now looking for a Planning Technician to join us on a part-time basis, working three days per week, for a 12 month fixed-term contract.
Welsh language skills are essential for this role. Please read the job description for the exact level required.

The Role
As a Planning Technician, you will provide technical and administrative support to our Planning Section, helping to ensure the efficient delivery of statutory planning services across Eryri National Park.
Playing a key role in validating, registering and managing planning applications and associated records, you will maintain planning histories, co-ordinate consultations, and support compliance activities.
You will also provide advice and assistance to applicants, agents and members of the public, responding to planning enquiries and helping to deliver excellent customer service.
Additionally, you will:
- Publish planning documents and information on our website
- Act as a duty officer, handling planning enquiries by phone, email, letter and in person
- Prepare plans, papers and reports for Planning and Access Committee meetings
- Administer planning appeals and co-ordinate responses
- Prepare mapping and plans using GIS systems
- Maintain records relating to appeals, incomplete applications and Section 106 Agreements
About You
To be considered as a Planning Technician, you will need:
- Good communication skills in English and Welsh
- Knowledge of and/or qualifications leading to relevant membership of the RTPI
- A sound understanding of the basic principles of GIS
- An interest in environmental issues
- Welsh, English, Maths and Geography at GCSE level
