Job Overview

You will be part of a team that produces original news stories as well as bringing the latest news to a Welsh language and Welsh audience. The aim is to reach and serve a wider and younger audience, both in video and text form. 
You will be extremely interested in creating content for several digital platforms from Tik Tok, to Instagram, Facebook and X, and in time, for You Tube.
You will be expected to have a good understanding of social media as well as an interest in Welsh and world news.

What will you do?
As a Digital Journalist, you will:
• Be a member of the Digital News team working closely with the Editors and the News and Current Affairs Commissioner to ensure a digital news service for a
contemporary Welsh audience.
• Produce news content for multiple digital platforms.
• Write catchy headlines.
• Produce unique digital content that tells personal stories and experiences.
• Produce sports stories and highlights.
• Offer ideas for stories.
• Manage live streams on social media.
• Film and edit interviews and photographs.
• Think creatively about how to get the largest possible audience to our content.
• Find contributors on a wide range of stories.
• Work as part of a team to respond to breaking stories.

A Professional and Collaborative Approach
• Contribute to continuous improvement, and a culture of high-quality service, by practical implementation of S4C’s Code of Culture.
• Promote and use the Welsh language in the workplace.
• Follow S4C's policies and procedures, including health and safety, diversity, and data protection.
• Be proactive with your line manager to monitor and develop your own performance.

You will succeed in this role if:
• You have experience of producing digital content.
• You are enthusiastic about local and national news.
• You can work independently with the freedom to make decisions but also enjoy collaborating with a wider team to share ideas.
• You are committed to your own personal development.
• You are a strong communicator in Welsh and English (oral and written).

You will also:
